Where light shows its true colors
Graphic custom fixtures for a modernist home
In this modernist home, lighting becomes part of the architecture. Clean lines, clear volumes, and a graphic design language form the basis, while art and color give the interior a unique character, and the lighting had to hold its own in that tension between rigor and playfulness.
Red, green, and light as architectural elements
For this project, we created completely custom lighting fixtures in our own workshop. The combination of bold primary colors gives the fixtures an almost graphic character: red, green, and light are brought together in objects that exist as colorful architectural elements during the day and help shape the space at night when they are lit.
The references to modernism are found not only in the architecture but also in the way form, function, and color come together. The pop art on the walls further enhances that playful layer.
“A light object is allowed to show some guts, as long as it continues to respect the architecture.”
Caro,
lighting architect
Balance between contrast and tranquility
Alongside the custom fixtures, understated spotlights and architectural lighting provide tranquility and contrast, ensuring the colorful elements don’t overwhelm but rather stand out more effectively.
In this way, light becomes more than a functional addition: it becomes a piece of architecture in itself, designed for this home, made for this one specific place.
